Prof. Costas Tzoganakis is the recipient of the 2018 James L. White Award from the Polymer Processing Society. The award is for an innovative development in the field of polymer processing technologies with recent commercial impact. It aims to recognize originality, innovation and creativity among researcher(s) or inventor(s) in the science and technology of processing polymers and polymeric products. Prof. Tzoganakis received the award during the 34th International Conference of the Polymer Processing Society in Taipei May 21-25, 2018 in recognition of his Tyromer ® rubber devulcanization work.
With Professor Tzoganakis’ invention, waste tire rubber can be reused in tire manufacturing to enable a circular economy that is socially responsible, environmental sustainable and financially viable.
